Your Guide To Getting Swimsuit-Ready by June

Swim Suit Ready by June

Living in a state that’s surrounded by four Great Lakes and countless smaller lakes, it’s no wonder most of us look forward to the summer season. Whether it’s lying on the beach, boating with friends, splashing in the waves, or even enjoying your backyard pool, many of us live in our swimsuits come June!

If you’ve spent the last several summers hiding under towels, cover-ups, or t-shirts, that stops here! Make your New Year’s resolution to look and feel better in your swimsuit so you can fully embrace that Michigan summer life! We have several options to help you achieve those goals, from laser hair removal (and other med spa options) to liposuction at our Ann Arbor practice.

While summer may seem far away, several plastic surgery procedures and med spa treatments require lead time so you can be both healed from your procedure and benefit from the full results of your treatment by June.

Timeline for Getting Swimsuit-Ready

Below is a list of popular procedures and treatments and when we recommend beginning your journey in order to be ready by June. Keep in mind, that our surgical schedule, especially, fills up quickly, so even with these guidelines, we recommend calling as soon as possible for your consultation.

Liposuction – Generally full results are seen within 6 to 12 weeks. This is a surgical procedure requiring a consultation before surgery. Surgery should be scheduled by late April or early March. (Check out our related blog post for more information about liposuction recovery and a year-round planning calendar.)

Breast Augmentation – Patients are typically told to expect to wait 3 to 4 months to see final results. Learn more about recovery from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. As with any other surgical procedure, a consultation is required first. Surgery should be scheduled for early February.

Tummy Tuck – At about the 3-month mark, you’ll see close-to-final results from your surgery. Early March should be the aim for surgery, keeping in mind that a consultation will need to be scheduled before this.

CoolSculpting® – This nonsurgical treatment still requires a consultation to make sure that you’re a good candidate for this procedure. Most people require at least 2 treatments to achieve their desired results. You’ll likely see preliminary results from your first treatment within 1 to 3 months, but to see the full effect of your CoolSculpting treatment, you may have to wait 4 to 6 months after your final treatment. With that in mind, if you’re considering CoolSculpting you’ll want to book your consultation as soon as possible!

Morpheus8 – This nonsurgical treatment is the newest to our med spa line-up. The average patient receives 3 treatments on the problem area with each treatment several weeks apart. You’ll see continued results in the following 3 to 4 weeks after each treatment. With that in mind, you’ll likely want to book your Morpheus8 treatment by the end of January or early February if you hope to have it fully completed by summer.

Laser Hair Removal – This nonsurgical treatment is a great option to get you swimsuit-ready. You’ll never have to worry again when you toss on that suit whether you shaved your legs! Because laser hair removal can only target hair in the active growth stage, several treatments are needed to achieve desired results. The hair treated at each session typically falls out about 1 to 2 weeks after the treatment. We recommend planning approximately 20 weeks from your first session (assuming you return regularly for follow-up treatments) to see full results. With that in mind, you’ll want to begin your laser hair removal process as soon as possible!
