Living in a state that’s surrounded by four Great Lakes as well as countless smaller lakes within the state, it’s no wonder that most of us look forward to the summer season. Whether it’s laying on the beach, boating with friends, splashing in the waves, or even enjoying your backyard pool, many of us live in our swimsuits come June!
And if you’ve spent the last several summers hiding under towels or cover-ups or t-shirts, that stops here! Make your 2022 New Year’s Resolution to look and feel better in your swimsuit so you can fully embrace that Michigan summer life!
While summer may seem far away, several plastic surgery procedures and medspa treatments require lead time so you can be both healed from your procedure and benefit from the full results of your treatment by June. Below is a list of popular procedures and treatments and when we recommend beginning your journey in order to be ready by June. Keep in mind, that our surgical schedule, especially, fills up quickly so even with these guidelines, we recommend calling as soon as possible for your consultation.
Liposuction – Generally full results are seen within 6-12 weeks. This is a surgical procedure requiring a consultation before surgery. Surgery should be scheduled by late April / early March.
Breast Augmentation – Patients are typically told to expect to wait 3-4 months to see final results. As with any other surgical procedure, a consultation is required first. Surgery should be scheduled for early February.
Tummy Tuck – At about the 3-month mark, you’ll see close to final results from your surgery. Early March should be the aim for surgery keeping in mind that a consultation will need to be scheduled before this.
CoolSculpting – This non-surgical treatment still requires a consultation to make sure that you’re a good candidate for this procedure. Most people require at least 2 treatments to achieve their desired results. You’ll likely see preliminary results from your first treatment within 1-3 months, but to see the full effect of your CoolSculpting treatment, you may have to wait 4-6 months after your final treatment. With that in mind, if you’re considering CoolSculpting you’ll want to book your consultation as soon as possible!
Morpheus8 – This non-surgical treatment is the newest to our medspa line-up. The average patient receives 3 treatments on the problem area with each treatment several weeks apart. You’ll see continued results in the following 3-4 weeks after each treatment. With that in mind, you’ll likely want to book your Morpheus8 treatment by the end of January or early February if you hope to have it fully completed by summer.
Laser Hair Removal – This non-surgical treatment is great to get you swimsuit ready because then you’ll never have to worry again about if you shaved your legs when you toss on that suit! Because laser hair removal can only target hair in the active growth stage, several treatments are needed to achieve desired results. The hair treated at each session typically falls out about 1-2 weeks after the treatment. We recommend planning approximately 20 weeks from your first session (assuming you return regularly for follow-up treatments) to see full results. With that in mind, you’ll want to begin your laser hair removal process as soon as possible!
